AMD is a little late to the game, but it looks like next year they’re going to have a new chip in their “Fusion” lineup that will compete with Intel’s Atom chip. They have a few low power chips in netbooks such as the MV-40, but battery life on these is definitely sub-par. This will change in 2011 with their new chip, whatever it may be called.

ASUS Eee PC 1005PR comes with Broadcom HD card and screen
The ASUS Eee PC 1005PR has recently popped up on the product pages over at Asus, and it’s a very nice upgrade to the now best-selling 1005PE. It keeps all of the specs the same except for an HD 1366 x 768 10.1″ display and a Broadcom crystal HD accelerator card for HD video playback. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability but look for it to come in under $400.

You can check out our first impressions here, but the U230 is basically either a very powerful netbook or a sub-notebook, whichever you want to call it. It has a 12.1″ 1366 x 768 HD screen and a beefy CPU/GPU combination for HD video playback and processing power closer to a full laptop than a netbook, while still staying portable.

HP Mini 5102 available now with N470 processor
The HP Mini 5102 has been available for awhile now, but just recently is available with the faster N470 processor. The N470 at 1.83GHz is only slightly faster than the N450 at 1.66GHz, but faster is faster.
