We all know that the Pinetrail processor platform is coming in January, but what is going to be the first netbook with this new technology? It may be the Lenovo Ideapad, which is making its way through FCC approval right now.
Here’s what it looks like (the FCC doesn’t know how to wipe off fingerprints before taking pictures):
One interesting thing you’ll notice is that there are no trackpad buttons, suggesting an apple mighty-mouse type click operation. We’ll have to wait and see how (or if) that one works out or not. It will be nice to see what the new Pineview platform can do in terms of performance.
Here are the specs that we know of so far:
- processor: Intel Atom N450 1.67GHz
- 2GB Samsung RAM
- 250GB hard drive (5400rpm)
- 10.1″ 1024 x 600 display
Since Intel isn’t budging on the Jan release date for their new processors it looks like we will have to wait until then to get our hands on this netbook.
