A new Asus Eee PC 1005PE model with a matte display and rubbery lid coating has begun shipping today from Amazon for $354. This new model takes the 1005PE model and improves on its two weak spots, glossy display and fingerprint-magnet exterior.
The display is changed to one with a non-glossy finish and the exterior of the netbook has a matte-look rubberized coating that is highly fingerprint-resistant. It still has all of the same great features of the original 1005PE, N450 processor, great keyboard, 14 hr battery life, etc.
And best of all these small upgrades don’t raise the price, which still remains at $354 for the 14 hour battery model.
