Asus has just put up a new product page for their latest netbook, the 1015PD. It is basically an updated version of the 1005PE featuring support for DDR3 RAM, USB 3.0 and the option to use the new 1.83GHz N475 processor, while the exterior design remains the same. The rest of the specs are pretty normal but it includes an option for a 13 hour battery as well.
Here are the specs:
- Display: 10″ 1024 x 600 Intel GMA 3150 graphics
- Processor: Intel Atom N470 (1.66GHz) or N475 (1.83GHz)
- 802.11 b/g/n wifi + bluetooth
- USB 3.0
- 0.3MP webcam
- HD: 160, 250 or 320GB
- battery options:
- 3 cell, 23Whr
- 6 cell, 48Whr
- 6 cell, 56Whr
- 6 cell, 63Whr
These batteries last from 4.5 to 13 hours, but the latter is a very optimistic estimate. As you can see this netbook will have more configurable options than most, but look for the performance and price to be about the same as current models.
