The new Cedar trail-M Intel Atom chip will be capable of HD (1080p) video playback as well as have HDMI out capabilities. Having HD video capabilities and HDMI output has been left to higher end netbooks with Nvidia Ion graphics or a Crystal HD card recently, but if the rumors are correct this will be common for all netbooks in 2011.
Imagine being able to plug your 10″ netbook into your 50″ tv and watch HD movies without a sweat, or streaming HD videos from Hulu straight to your monitor or tv. Graphics has definitely been the downside to netbooks, and if these improvements are made it will be another boost for netbook sales.
