Lenovo has officially announced their new 11.6 inch thin and light notebook today, and it’s going to be powered by an AMD Neo CPU instead of the usual Intel flavor.
Here are the specs:
- Processor: AMD Neo CPU (MV-40, X2 L335 or X2 L625)
- 11.6 inch 1366 x 768 display
- up to 4GB RAM
- 320GB hard drive
- Windows 7
The price on this is $449, so it’s clearly in the high-end netbook category along with the likes of the Asus 1201n or the AS1410 dual core.

As you can see from the pics this netbook has the usual trackpad but also keeps the signature Lenovo trackbutton in the center of the keyboard. It also has a red edge around the computer. These are some interesting styling options and we’ll have to wait and see how people react to them.
It has a full sized chiclet keyboard and either a 3 or 6 cell battery. It will be interesting to see how this combination performs in the real world with video and processing tasks, and there will be plenty of demonstrations at CES to look forward to. Don’t worry we’ll keep you posted.
