Asus has announced today that they will start including USB 3.0 superspeed ports in their new Eee PC’s. It looks like the first ones to include the super fast ports will be the 1015P, 1016P and 1018P.
How much faster is USB 3.0 than the current 2.0? Well usb 2.0 transfers data at around 480Mb/s while the new USB 3.0 specs looks to average around 4.8Gb/s, so basically however long it takes you to transfer a file with the current port divide the time by 10.
Asus basically invented the netbook market, and it looks like they’re continuing their pioneering of the segment with the introduction of usb 3.0 into their product line.
