The Pixel Qi we first heard about last November was on display at the Computex computer show the other day, and someone there had the bright idea to take it outside and compare it to an iPad in direct sunlight. I bet you can guess which one was easier to read; take a look at the following video to find out.
Wow it looks like the iPad is basically unusable outdoors, which is in line with what I’ve read from other reviews as well.

Just comp.teed week in the carribean with my iPad. Spent most of the time in field cataloging plants for a field course. While I did experience some difficulty in full sunlight the overall experience was excellent. In most instances it was simply a matter of changing the angle of the screen, increasing screen brightness or seeking shade if available.
