If you’re looking for a netbook for the new semester and don’t feel like spending $600 plus on a new ultrabook, then here are some great netbooks that won’t break the bank:

1:  Acer Aspire One AO725

This netbook comes with Windows 7 64-bit, a 320Gb hard drive, and a 1GHz dual core AMD processor. It also comes with 2Gb of RAM and has a 7 hour battery life. Not a bad deal for around $275 including shipping. You can read our full review here.

2: Acer Aspire One AOD270

The number 2 netbook is also from Acer, but this one has a 10.1″ display. It’s more compact and portable than the 11.6″ models and features the Atom 1.6GHz processor and Windows 7 starter. It isn’t as full featured as the AO725 but can still get the job done, and at only $238 including shipping it’s a good bit cheaper.

3: HP Mini 110

The HP Mini 110 has been out for awhile but still remains one of the most solid netbooks you can get. It also has a large community that has built up over the years that you can use for support and upgrades/hacking.

It features the Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor and the same specs as the AOD270, along with a 10.1″ display. When buying a netbook one of the main decisions you’ll want to make is whether you want an ultra-portable 10.1″ display or the extra real estate of an 11.6″.

4: Asus X101 10.1″

It is a little light on the hardware with only a 1.33GHz processor and a 4 hour battery life, but is definitely suitable for writing papers and surfing the interwebs.

5: Asus 1025C

The Asus 1025C is a great all-around netbook, with a 1.6GHz atom processor, 320Gb hd and Windows 7 starter. It has a 10.1″ display and comes in black, pink or white. At around $274 this is a great netbook for the price. Read the full review here.
