Upgrade you netbook to Windows 7 Home Premium for $49

All of the new netbook that ship with Windows 7 have reduced features including no Aero effects, inability to change desktop background, no multiple monitor support, no Windows media player, etc. Well starting April 4th and ending July 3rd there is a special running with certain retailers to upgrade your Windows 7 starter to Home Premium for only $49.

New Fujitsu Lifebook Tablet coming?

Some interesting documents passed through the FCC site today, and it looks like Fujitsu has a new tablet pc coming. The model is the T730, and since their T900 model has a 13 inch screen we would guess that this one is smaller (11.6 would be my guess). All we have to go on now is a label and bottom schematic but we’ll keep you updated as we find out more:

HP Mini 5102 + touchscreen = epic fail

The HP Mini 5102 is a very nice netbook, and it’s available from $399 from HP. One interesting option that they have is to add on a capacitive touchscreen display, but it ends up costing $633. So is it worth an extra $233 for a capacitive touchscreen on the 5102?

A new Asus Eee PC 1005PE model with a matte display and rubbery lid coating has begun shipping today from Amazon for $354. This new model takes the 1005PE model and improves on its two weak spots, glossy display and fingerprint-magnet exterior.

ARM Mali GPU 200: the future of mobile gaming?

ARM had an interesting demonstration setup at the Gaming Developers Conference 2010. Sascha over at NetbookNews got a hands-on demo of their new Mali GPU 200 graphics chip and the results are impressive. Remember that this chip is made to work with the Cortex A8 or A9 processors so this will be used in smartphones, smartbooks and other small portable computers.
