Yes you read right, the new Zii labs processing chip is branded as the world’s first stemcell computer and it combines processing and graphics capabilities all onto one very small chip. It’s modeled after stem cells (not made from them) in that the whole chip can dedicate itselft entirely to the job at hand, whether it be processing or graphics rendering.
Right now it’s going to be released in the Zii egg, an iphone shaped device that is a personal mini computer capable of HD video, games, and whatever else you want. And when we say HD we mean 1080i, not 720p (sorry Zune).
What we can expect in the future (if this chip lives up to the hype) is that these will be included in ever smaller netbooks with increased capabilities. We’re looking forward to more info once this is launched.
